My first Grubee Skyhawk GT-5 (2 engine kits) is on it's way to me. I have done some research and decided instead of lurking to become a member. This is what I have learned, do not expect much when it comes and do not start it until I first tear it down and inspect it. I have compiled a list of things you all have said to do, like replace all the bolts, use locktight, order new parts to replace the damaged ones that will be in the box, etc.

Has anyone compiled these steps into a booklet or other form? In other words has anyone posted an instruction manual for going through a new motor and getting it set up properly including things like lapping the cylinder matting surfaces and checking the rings?

Please direct me to where I can find this information, if not in one place at least tell me which posts to view.

Here are important questions to consider when building for yourself or others:

1) What is the predominant riding terrain?
2) What type of physique does the primary rider have?
3) What will the rider's local laws allow them to have?
(Lookup and personally read these laws.)
4) What kind of bike is being motorized?
5) What is the bike to be used for?
6) How much of a budget is to be used for the build?

Seek the answers to these questions in order to get the most out of the bike you're building. We're here to help with any questions you may have. Good luck with your build.
