I have an engine of unknown brand which looks like all the others but there are differences. It IS a new engine bought from a local supplier. Supplier does not respond to email or phone. Cannot install a pull starter for one, and now I find that I cannot remove the small gear to install the centrifugal clutch on my daughters bike. I have stripped part of the threads on the clutch removal tool but not inside the gear itself. I'm wondering if I can remove the dry clutch plates etc and perhaps get behind that gear and pry it loose. I worry about damaging the shaft or other parts doing that though. I may have to remove the shaft entirely to get at the thing. I don't really want to disassemble the whole engine though. Has anyone else run into this problem? Thanks a bunch guys, this forum is great for making new friends and sharing information.
