i have an 80cc slant motor from engineonline.com. I am having problems getting the bike to idle by itself. Any suggestions what i could do?
    Thanks

Turn the idle screw all the way in and back it off (after its started) till the engine idles properly.

    What carb do you have?

we need to know what carb you have (n.t., cns, etc.)
if it won't idle, there can be a lot of different things causing it.
everything from electrical to the carb slide being installed wrong.
we need to know what carb you have so we can try to pinpoint where your problem is.

It has an n.t. carb on it. Tonight after going for a short ride there was also some black oil that dripped out of the exhaust.

There could be any one or a number of fixes. Vacuum leak in the gasket or between the intake manifold and the carburetor. I use a "O" ring to fix the later. Could be in the carburetor itself. There have been cases where the internal parts were not tight. Mixture too rich..use a 20:1 for the first two tanks then a 32:1, some go as far as 100:1. Float needs adjustment. And you may have a vacuum leak at the crankshaft seal(s). Could be the needle needs adjustment (there are 5 adjustments), and it could be it needs to be re-jeted.

BTW... Oil out of the exhaust during break-in is GOOD. :)

I have tried playing with the air/fuel screw and it is not working. Should I try moving the in the carb down one and make it richer?

I don't think so ,I think it's to rich now man !!! If the oil and gas is coming out the pipe it's getting more then enough. First check what you are mixing it at ,second buy a NGK spark plug ,DO A SEARCH ON HERE FOR IT ,and third Set the needle in the carb! There is a lot of good reads on here but you have to look for it !!!!!
