Title pretty much says it all. I need to make my own mount and it needs to be 2.5 mm thick (no thicker.) What kind of metal is used?

I don't know your mechanical abilities or skill levels at all, but here are pictures of my front engine mount because i did not like the cheap crap out there that the manufacturers make for front mounts...This took time and effort to pull off and and was custom, hand fitted, all the way...The metal used is 7075 T-6 Military Aircraft Grade Aluminum...DAMIEN

Use some mild steel, but be careful tightening down so you don't bend it too much.

I did this on one build. The hardware stores have better clamps than the ones in the kits.
