Been great riding my shifter 49hs. But..id like to put some nice disc forks . I welded a bracket for rear disc..works great. Problem..nice forks are 11/8. Sooo, I'm thinking, slice the 1" headtube 3/4 off leaving enough to seat my 11/8 tube into and weld:). Should be no problem with alignment. Right??? Don't have to go to the expense off, new frame, tearin it down just transplantin. Hey let me know. Ya know how I get on a one track thought process and miss the obvious.
