    Hi All:

Just bumped into this site somehow(?) and liked what I saw, so up I signed.

I've been riding and tinkering on bikes since the late '60's, did a little racing back in my 20's, and even worked in a bike shop in my college days. Last year I got the motorized bike bug, and bought an electric hub motor from Golden Motor and put it on an older ProFlex mountain bike. I won't bore you with all the details of getting it on the road -- you can visit my website/blog if you're interested in all that -- but I now have several hundred miles on it, and I'm lovin' it.

The greatest thing about riding a bike with electric assist is that it makes me scoot along like I'm really working at it without working up a sweat and without killing my knees. And nothing but the sound of the wind in my ears. Almost like going downhill all the time!

In looking around it appears that most people are using gas engines; many others using electrics?
