Engine oil coming out of intake?

This newly acquired 2003 Whizzer Panther is spewing engine oil from intake.
Does that mean the piston rings are shot?

Not necessarily. If it has less than 500 miles on the engine it is not even broken in yet. There is a modified compression relief cover that has a large breather hose that does not connect to the air cleaner. Unfortunately these things will blow oil until they are broken in. Quenton also designed an oil trap for the end of the new larger breather hose. If you search this forum for "oil breather" you will find the directions on how to build one yourself. Cheap and easy to build too. Here is the link to the instructions.
