This post is from a site dedicated to grammar Nazi's and they were critiquing a journalist who debated the use of correct grammar and punctuation in getting a message across.

    Made me laugh:

    Dear Claire

Why this is important. Consider the following two sentences:

    1. "I helped my uncle, Jack, off his horse."

    2. "I helped my uncle jack off his horse."

Correct grammar is CRITICAL to the proper meaning in English. If you fail in grammar, you cannot communicate. With other languages it may be the order of words, pronunciation or inflection that are equally important.

The message you are sending to the youth of today constitutes a failure of journalistic integrity.

Mike Judge was almost Nostradamus-like with Idiocracy. With the twitter-speak and iphone zombies breeding, obvious lack of the knowledge of spell-check, the overly sensitive modern p.u.s.s.i.e.s., I can see where it's going and am glad I won't be along for the ride. We're in a technological dream, while driving down the Main St. of a modern day dark ages of the mind.

Professional writing should contain correct spelling and grammar. I expect neither in internet forum posts.
