This post is from a site dedicated to grammar Nazi's and they were critiquing a journalist who debated the use of correct grammar and punctuation in getting a message across. Made me laugh: Dear Claire Why this is important. Consider the following two sentences: 1. "I helped my uncle, Jack, off his horse." 2. "I helped my uncle jack off his horse." Correct grammar is CRITICAL to the proper meaning in English. If you fail in grammar, you cannot communicate. With other languages it may be the order of words, pronunciation or inflection that are equally important. The message you are sending to the youth of today constitutes a failure of journalistic integrity.
