Just figured I would say hello. I live in Ithaca, NY and I'm just looking to shed my car and have an alternate form of transportation for longer distances.
My car sucks down too much gas, and I would like to rid myself of sucking down gas altogether. All I have right now for my project are some recycled sealed batteries, a 36v 500 watt motor, and lots of steel to weld up my frame. I know this is a very gas-motor-centric site, but what I'm looking for through you guys is the rest of the parts and some guidance.
I'm currently considering my old trek 800 as the bike I'm going to convert into a dedicated electric moped. As it stands, i'm having trouble finding a sprocket I can mount on to the back wheel and one to mount on the motor itself.
