homelite sx-135 bandit

I got a homelite sx-135 from the neighbor and it does not run. I have not tried anything to it yet. I want to do my first friction drive and wondered if I should use this engine or get something else. I would like to try a 600 mile trip using a engine on my mountain bike. can yall help me out with some advice please.

Hi Alan, welcome to Motoredbikes, biggest difficulty with the chainsaw is mounting and noise. You will have some fabrication to do if you can get it to run and want to use it.

Professor, this is a weed eater not a chainsaw. is that ok being a weed eater?

Weed eater engines usually work well for friction drive motors.
