Honda Gx 160 Not Starting

I have a honda gx160 engine that i left outside during the rain while it was still covered with plastic bags, only the kill switch was directly exposed. I parked it, and when I came back for it about 5 hours after, it wouldnt start! Ive tried changing the oil. Not sure what to do.... any help?

Check the plug to see if you have spark.

Could that cause it to stop working so abruptly? It didn't even get wet because it was covered

Disconnect the kill switch?

I like to check the easy stuff first.

I'm with him, likely to be water shorting out the kill switch.
