Honda GXH50

I'm a newbie and have a Honda GXH50 which is brand new. The problem I'm having is when I give it the gas, it hesitates for a moment at half throttle and then goes on. Any suggestions on the problem?

hi Doc, welcome to Motoredbikes! Is the engine fully warmed up?
These motors are set very lean for emissions nonsense, and that is what it sounds like. I opened the jet a couple of thousandths on my 2.5 hp harbor freight and the problem of having to leave the choke on for a long time went away.
