I need help choosing a great bike !

I am new to this so I don't know which way to go with choosing what bike is right for me? I'm six ft 200 lbs. I don't want to mess with mixing oil and gas. I also don't want to mess with popping a clutch to start my future ride? I travel 20 miles a day round trip on my Lyric scooter which is more of a headache than it's worth! I'm looking to spend around a 1,000, so any help from you more experienced riders would be great!
