How do I adjust the idle rpms on a GX35? I don't see a screw and it is starting to rub the clutch at idle just a little.
I don't want to run hot so if ya'all know please share thanks.
Thanks
J

The idle screw is on top of the carb behind where the throttle cable attaches
All the screw does is open the throttle a little.....

Thanks, what I am trying to do is get the rpms down, the clutch is touching the bell at idle and that could eventually make it run hot I think.
It is making that chatter when at idle so it must be too high.
I was looking for the adjust screw on the side of the carb, and did not think to look up there.

Idle speed is 3100 rpm ± 200 rpm.

You don't want it lower than this, off idle throttle response suffers and the oil system relies on the speed of the impellor to make oil mist.

If the shoes are dragging at this rpm, check the bushing in the bell, a worn bushing will allow the bell to skew on the shaft. Also check spring(s) if it still drags replace springs.
