I saw my first motorized bike a couple days ago and decided that instead of buying a new scooter, I was going to try a MB instead.

I have an old Yamaha Zuma 50cc scooter that I'm thinking about removing the engine and installing it on a bike - I saw that one of the members had done the same thing. Or would I be better off buying a bicycle-specific motor kit?

I also like the idea of adding an Xtracycle to the bike to increase hauling capability. Anyone else have any experience with these ideas?

Thankyou,
Bob

are you mechanically inclined. If so I personally would love to see something like what you described.

If not... then an off the shelf kit can be convenient and reliable.

There are VERY good kits out there... and some that are not. Please ask any questions you might have.

Thanks for the reply. I purchased a Jet 66cc kit yesterday. For $170 it didn't seem worth the bother to try and rig my Zuma motor up to a bike. I'm looking for a used cruiser or comfort bike on Craiglist to use as a donor.
