Is it possible to....

I want to hook up a car charging outlet onto my bike so I can charge my phone while driving. Is it possible, and How would I go about doing it. How would I wire it?View attachment 74595 View attachment 74596.

Easy, all you need is the cigarette lighter port in the right picture. Just splice the red wire directly in to your spark plug wire and ground the black wire somewhere on the frame and you are good to go.

No dont ever splice into plug wire! Crassius said it already you need a rectifier and battery or regulator to give the needed 12v dc and even then you will only have a low amperage!like 70 milliamps

Your right .. something about a charger.

A fullwave rectifier between frame and red wire will give 2 wires with DCV out.
You will need a 12v regulator to limit the max voltage.

I have a wood stove that charges my phone while I cook dinner in the woods:

Called a Biolite, it is awesome. Staring with dry wood I have a cup of coffee in 7 minutes.

Na, splicing in to the plug wire like I said works. I've done it a thousand times.

How would splicing into plug wire work its not a constant output its high voltage on captive discharge, and more importantly would make your engine run like s**t!
