HI folks,
I came across MBc while tracing down motors for an electric bike. I see most folks here are gas, and you know, I may go that way. As green as I want to be, I live in the sticks and need range. I've got a 10 mile commute, well also 10 miles to the nearest grocery store, so I need a 25-30 mile range I can count on. Here in TX, it's over 100 degrees (37C) at going home time. So 200 watts of motor and the batts to get me there and back vs. a weedeater motor.
My current ride is a 16 lb road bike, was a racer in a past life but now just get around. Juicing a bike is the easiest and cheapest, but if I find a motorcycle carcass in time I might electrify it. It's only a few more watts of motor and handles the battery weight so well...
