locked up motor ?

Hey I've got my kit installed all I have to do is hook up fuel line. How can I turn the crankshaft to see if the engine is not locked up I've tried the sparkplug wrench supplied seems like the clutch is turning but gears aren't turning piston not moving hope this doesn't sound to dumb.

The easiest way for me is to remove the magneto cover plate. Under it is a 14 mm nut. Use a wrench to turn it clockwise; it should give a little drag, and more resistance if the sparkplug is tightened down.

if you just want to turn the engine over, take the spark plug out.

Thanks I turned it over today now I have to shorten the chain tomorrow I put a 50t sprocket so it looks like taking out 2 links does that sound right ?
