Greetings, fellow Masters and Madams of the mechanical.

My name is Kevin and I'm a gear-a-holic. My current two-wheeled vehicular contraption is a Schwinn beach cruiser with an 80cc engine that my co-workers dubbed "Sally" although no one can figure out why.

I've been slapping engines onto things for some time now (coolers, rollerblades etc.) but I've found my favorite is the bicycle. I'm looking forward to sharing ideas and expanding my horizons out here in the realm of ones and zeros.

    Hope to see you around,

    Kevin

    Welcome aboard.

Isaac Asimov once wrote a story about a robotic car named "Sally". Maybe that's where the name came from. But that was a long time ago now....

Anyway, it sounds like you're already one of us. So tell us more about your bike.

    See you around.

Thanks for the responses! I posted a picture of Sally in the gallery. Since Mountainman wanted to see it, I also put a couple of shots of the cooler out there. However, since it isn't a motored bike, I'll take them off if I've committed a faux pas...

  6. That may be MUSTANG SALLY

Better slow (COOL) that Mustang DOWN!!! Nice job cooler man. I have an igloo like that in the garage that made it to the beach once. Just not in style like that. Good to have some out of the BOXERS here. Welcome aboard!

I like that (Cooler) motorized THING

    hey klassard

    that's a very (Cool) cooler
seems like some higher bars would be better
    but then again
    while leaning over
easy to check and see what's in the cooler

what engine are you using in that (Cool) cooler motorized THING ?

I like that -- ride that THING

I'm using two, 24volt 900 watt electric motors with an 80 amp controller. They are parts hacked from surplus EV Warrior guts. I'm using a chain drive to transfer power to the transaxle.

It is an old Schwin beach cruiser with an 80cc kit. I didn't like the bent spokes I was getting with the stock sprocket adapter thing so I built a jack shaft to move the power over to the right side. Then, I was getting my heals beat by my pedals when the engine was engaged. To fix that problem, I found an old Schwinn Front-Freewheel crankset. Now that the crankset itself freewheels, I can keep my feet still. To help get up hills, I put a Shimano 7-internal gear hub on.
