A few photos are in order...
Hi all, I'm still awaiting approval from Dover to hold the event at Fort Miles (Cape Henlopen State Park, Lewes, Delaware), but in the meantime I thought I'd post some photos of the proposed location. These photos were taken at living history events held at the Fort, so sometimes reenactors can be seen.
First, a view down the road towards the parking area and one of the Fire Control Towers (for the Coastal Artillery). This FCT is open for people to explore:

Here are a couple photos of various building in the cantonment:

Here are some photos looking out to sea from the vantage point in front of Battery 519:

Cape Henlopen has the distinction of being the most heavily armed State Park in the country. Here's part of the reason why - a 6-inch naval gun that was part of the WWII Coastal Artillery armament:

Here are a couple of the 3-inch guns on display:

Oh, by the way, the grey one is fully operational. They do firing demos (with blank charges) with this one:

MotoredBikes are not new to Fort Miles. Here's my Columbia at a past event:

I wish I had more general views of the site, but unfortunately they were lost when my old computer crashed. The site is historic, and the structures are being restored to become a living history museum. The park itself has a lot to explore by MB, and a ride into town of Lewes or to the Cape May - Lewes Ferry would be in order. Wouldn't it be a great gag photo to have taken of all the bikes lined up, looking like they're ready to load onto the ferry?
