Does anyone here have any personal experiences with these bikes? They make a very cool Schwinn retro.
    Thanks
    Jeff

they haven't been out long. a couple people have built on them but they haven't been around long enough to tell anything about long term durability.

watch out for those forks is all I can really tell you. the original schwinns are fine but a lot of the reproductions are very thin-walled steel and end up folding at the pivot

This is from a reply to a email I sent them.

    Hello Jeff,
    Thank you for contacting us.
The maximum rider weight for this bike is 250 pounds. To purchase parts, you will need to contact us. We try our best to keep parts in stock. The warranty is 1 year on most parts after proof of purchase, the wearable parts have a 30 day after proof of purchase warranty and the frame will have a 5 year warranty.
    Kind regards,
    Amber

I ordered one last night hopefully will be here by the 11th. I am going to take the wheel hubs, crank and forks off to make sure everything is greased well. Then try to figure what sort of front brakes will work. I will post back my opinion on the bike after I put it together. Motor kit should be here tomorrow.
    Thanks
    Jeff

Ya my 1st bike, I had a springer front end. On the way to work the thru bolt on the spring sheared and the spring shot straight over my head. Luckily I wasn't going that fast and I didn't crash.

Looks good, if I remember right there's no way to hook up a frnt brake. I spent alot time looking for a pair of forks with vbrake posts on Craigslist, eBay and local bike shops. Eventually found a telescopic at a local bike shop for 40.00. Good luck with your build

I will figure a way to mount brakes even if I have to machine a mount just not quite sure how yet but do not even have it running so it will be a few more days. I am all so going to line the tank so I do not get rust.

I like that Mongoose. It already has some things I want, like bobbed fenders and a springer fork. The rear fender strut looks sturdy.

As I said in one of my post I was mistaken this is a Schwinn. I plain on changing fenders as I ride rain or shine hot or cold and I do not want thing popping off the tire on my face or back.
