Motor/generator has a pretty efficient setup for a long time in trains, ships, submarines, heavy equipment. etc. Why not have an electric bike towing a trailer with a briggs powered dc generator. You could have a battery too in case a cop tried to say the motor was powering the bike.
With the generator you could have a bigger motor and not be restricted to the batteries' charge capacity.
