Hi all, I have a k2 mens zed 3.2 hardtail mountain mountain bike. ( Exactly like the one found here.. http://www.amazon.com/K2-Mens-Hardtail-Mountain-Bike/dp/B002O2KGI8) I'm trying to find a motor kit for it. I made the mistake of getting the GRUBEE SkyHawk GT5 66cc/80cc Angle Fire Slant Head Bike Motor Kit and spent 6 hours trying to make it fit. (found here.. http://www.gasbike.net/grubee_skyhawk_gt5_66cc_80cc_slant_head_standard_finish_bike_motor_kit.html) It doesn't fit The frame, because the bottom bar on the bike it too big/wide, and the motor is too big. does anyone know of a way to make this fit, or suggest a motor kit that will fit? Thanks

yeah its not too visible but that frame clearly has the wrong dimensions - you're going to have a hard time mounting any motor to it. Even if one will fit (which you said it didnt already) it wont use any of the standard mounts as they dont have the right angles for it.

My advice (for whatever its worth :S) is to ditch/sell it, and spend a little more time before buying another. They aren't hard to find, however you'll quite often see frames the same as that on any cheaper bike these days.

A good suggestion is to buy one second hand, as a very large proportion of older bikes have the required V frame, with the flatbar design and correct angles.

Another suggestion is that if you are set on buying a brand new bike, I hear a lot of the cheap kmart bikes are suitable - I'm sure someone can advise you as to which ones (I'd have no idea) or maybe do a search on the forums.
