Does anybody happen to know which type of front suspension would fit an older mountain bike like my Bridgestone. It's an MB6, probably a 92 or 93. I do not know off hand what the diameter of the head tube is or if I need threaded or not.

Any ideas would be great.

What you need is a fork with a 1in. steerer tube, and you need one that is threaded if you want to maintain your current headset and stem. Finding a fork with these criteria in todays market is going to be tuff. Nashbar used to have some inexpensive 1in.suspension forks so you might start there. NYC bikes also had some 1in. forks. If all you can find is a non threaded steerer then you will also have to get a new threadless headset and a new stem and probably a reducing shim to make a 1&1/8in. stem fit the 1in. steerer.
