new guy want to build recumbent

Hi All
I am a 66 year old x aircraft mech. and flight instructor with bad knees and want to build / install a gas motor on my recumbent bike. Fire away with your advice and suggestion! Due to knee operation I can not peddle at all (yet) so looking for install that does not need to be peddled to start.
