New member from Minneapolis

A short intro. I live in South Minneapolis and am interested in motored bikes, but have not built one yet. I want a project to build with my boys (11 and 14) to help them learn some mechanical skills. I'm a little concerned about building something they might end up getting hurt on, but it is an opportunity to help them learn how to be responsible with potentially dangerous stuff, so . . . I think it's on balance a good thing. Is one style inherently more safe than another for younger riders?
