HI
\I just finished bullding my first dax bike
think I did it right but can't even ride it - pedaling
never started up yet

do not think clutch is engaged

any thoughts

thanks

hope this answers your question about lever in or out

with clutch lever in all the way via the hand pulling it - pointed toward the motor - I can ride
with it in the hand lock position it is almost as good
with it out - loose - pointing away from motor - it will not roll

if it were mine i would pull the head and i couldnt see a problem i would pull the barrel. or contact the seller and see about replacement. have you checked to see if the chain is not bound up on the engine sprocket? if you take it apart you have to put it back together. that has its own set of potential problems.

With the clutch engaged, slowly rotate the rear. It should rotate past the compression point if you apply a little pressure while hand rotating the rear tire. Try it in both directions. It would be easier to do if the spark plug was out while you try.
Lets us know if we can help some more. New motors can be tight.

My piston froze up after I left my bike out in the rain and didn't run it for the few days following. I pulled the plug and squirted some WD40 in cylinder, then with the clutch engaged (still no plug), rocked the bike back and forth until the piston came free. Dropped he plug back in and she fired up right away.

new engine was simply stuck

I followed directions pulled plug rocked back and forth
it was quite tight but it did finally loosen up
runs great - replaced plug
starts right up - hardly any pedal needed
now am in break in process
