Nice electroplated motor parts

    I've been finding pics of standard bike motor parts, beautifully enhanced by electroplating. I think the carb is chrome and copper plated, but it could be nickel instead of chrome (I'm partial to nickel). I looked up youtube videos on home electroplating, and it's no more difficult than the other stuff I attempt.

    Maybe some day.

    Wow, those standard parts do look so very good with a bit of electroplating thrown at them !!!

    That carb does look nice! I have spent some time polishing my side covers, and it really improves the look of the engine. I sprayed the cylinder flat black, then polished the edges of the cooling fins, makes it look more expensive.

    The copper really sells the retro look. Do let us know if you are able to pull it off at home.

    I'll add a fourth to that. That carb looks like it came off a Duesenberg or some equally classic beauty. And yes, any news about DIY plating would be a treat.
