Hi,
Can an engine be started and run without a pedal chain? So can I push the bike up to 10 mph to start it?

if my pedal chain broke I imagine I would run along side the bike and then hop on to put weight on the rear wheel and then pop the clutch. I would think popping the clutch and not being on the bike would give you the results you intended.

My bike will not push start because back end is too light and tire will just drag. You can get started by sitting down on it and coasting down a slight decline. I've been able to push with my feet and go fast enough to start but not if going the slightest bit uphill.

If your wondering why I know it's because I wrecked my pedal arms with a grinder trying to get them to fit by the motor. Got a new bike now though.
