ok guys i want to know if its ok to take my new 52cc friction drive bike to work, but the only problem is that i live ten miles from where i work, is it ok to take it that far with the brand new engine?? below is where i got everything

kit: bikemotorparts.com

motor: monsterscooterparts.com (same as auger motor)

I would start by taking some longer rides on the weekends to get used to it, get it broken in, review different routes available, & to check the overall reliability. Build yourself up to the 10 mile ride & consider back-up plans in case of problems. In other words,,, " just do it !"

Make sure that engine's good and broke in before you turn it into
your commuter. Give it a good week of taking it out around your
neighborhood maybe twice a day for about 10-15 min jaunts.
When you do decide to take it to work that first time, why don't you
plan on pulling over after every 4 miles to give the engine a little breather.
You can do a check and make sure all important nuts and bolts are still
nice and tight. Got a tool pouch? A socket set, drivers and above all else -
A 10 mm wrench.

Cheers,
Hybrid

If it's a Japanese (or Taiwanese), or US engine, I'd say go for it. The precision of those engines is usually very good. If it's Chinese, I'd put about 50 miles (in short trips), on it first. Another consideration is the bike. Do you have confidence in it?
