i got the js from sbp and due to not having the right tools etc etc i made a heck of a mess installing it and eventually i bent the shaft housing so much that it just wouldn't work/align anymore so i'm thinking of getting www.gasbike.net/jackshaft-kit.html but my first red flag is that it's cheaper than the sbp kit and considering what i did to their hd kit...yeah lol. thoughts?

ps - it is UNBEARABLE to drive without the js. seriously it's like going from a hot tub to an ice tank lol

The gasbike kit is a big $10 cheaper than the cheapest SBP kit.
That would be enough to get you to buy it?

Did you compare the pics and what you get?
The SBP includes a $10 jump stop plus much better quality parts.

That gas bike kit is a crappy copy of the old SBP version of the bracket
and all the parts except for the crank arms are really shoddily made parts.

You ain't thinking straight.....you can buy the bracket separately from SBP.

Like MBR said, just get a replacement bracket. SBP's shift kit is far better than the competition's.

Like the old saying goes "If you can't afford to do it right the first time, you'll have to afford doing it twice"

    Maybe in your case, thrice.

NEVER, NEVER EVER buy anything from Gasbikes, Kings or Zone 8 ....all the same company and you WILL GET SCREWED...

okay i get it, sbp sold y'all out :p frankly my biggest issue was installation. the instruction manual was total rubbish and i couldn't afford to get an angle grinder and all the other machines needed to put the darn thing together. my biggest issue was getting the shaft in without messing up the frame. i borked that really hard. i've already bought 6 sprockets, 4 shafts and a ton of bearings already. had 2 bearings crumble and most of the shafts i have are no good cause the bearing fused to the shaft. i think next i'll need a bench vice. really, though, all i need is the frame, shaft, bearings and sprockets. that kit has all of it. the rest is from the sbp kit. aligning the right hand sprocket with a mallet is a bad idea. suggestions?
