hi! i just bought a 88cc motorised bicycle engine, runs fine but recently the woodruff key sheared off,is this a common problem or was i unlucky ?

Welcome to the forum. The woodruff key is made to shear off if your engine locks up while riding so the back wheel won't lock up.
It happens.
