Please help!!clutch problems!!!!

okay i have rode this bike a few times then then put up for the winter then when i went to ride it a couple days ago and my clutch would not engage so i took side cover off and and there was a grind mark on it so i bought a new side cover installed it and still wont engage just freewheeling i have tried adjusting and just wont kick over act like clutch is not engaging any ideas why????please help me with this i have only got to ride this a couple of times and its really bumming me out thank you for any comments regarding this issue

Sounds like it may need a clutch adjustment... perhaps you adjusted it the wrong direction?

There are several posts on how to adjust the clutch and in which direction as well...
