I'm aware that Most BMX bike frames are too small to mount a motor on the inside but would it be possible to put the engine on the seat post either mid frame or behind it ?

ive seen some on YouTube. search "bmx motorized bicycle". the majority of them are rear mounted and looks like will require some machine work. it is possible but don't expect a kit or anything. or, you can look at the rear rack mount or friction kits out there.

Hmm.. I'm guessing it will be the same for 4 stroke engines ?

Sorry let me clarify. There are many kits for rear mounted (above tire) for 4 stroke engines but for 2 strokes it will most likely have to be home made or custom. The mounting studs on the 2 strokes are designed to be between the bottom and seat post tube.

Ahh alright. So there is hope yet. And I already found some info regarding the 2 stroke rear mount. It will take some work, yes.

as for the 4 stroke It doesn't seem like it would take alot of work http://motoredbikes.com/attachments/fit-jpg.26560/ seems like someone's already done it.

TBH, I would just go with a tried and true 4 stroke rear mount. The 2 stroke rear mounts are almost always custom and to be able to withstand the vibrations of a 2 stroke and overcome the mounts would require a lot of work. Of course, a 2 stroke engine kit is less expensive than a 4 stroke kit but for the amount of time and money needed to make a proper mount, I think I would just pay extra and take the 4 stroke. That picture looks like the 4 stroke engine is simply on a sturdy rear rack. If so then it really wouldn't be too effort to get a 4 stroke on the back.

It really helps to show your exact bike pics or a link to it on-line.

There are electric options that can fit mountain bikes with no center cavity for gas, and let you use your bike gears with electric motor power.

That full suspension sucker packed about a KiloWatt of power and was not just a rocket off the line, it would do over 40MPH thanks to the gears and sheer power.

Not cheap like your bike I would assume or you would just buy a decent beach cruiser bike to center mount a gas engine on.

Beats the hell out of some rinkey dink small gas engine stuck on top or to side of your nice bikes back wheel.

KC, you keep showing this bike porne day after day.
Just when I thought I've seen it all, you come up with something new, filling my heart with desire.

I like you, my kind of humor.

I am just lucky is all.
I haven't worked a 'real job' for ~40 years and have no intention of starting now.

My wife makes enough to support us, and I get to 'play' in my shop learning everything I can.
When I have the time, place and money to explore new things I think up I build them.

I've been busy the last 6 years doing just that and I love it!
    If I can give anyone advice and encouragement to go a step further with their own builds cool, if not, well sit back and droll as I don't cut corners ;-}

KC, just one important question, where do you find a woman like that? I am a single man. . .

I didn't find my wife, she found me.
Stole me away at a fancy bar actually.
I was buff in my 20's having been a roofer before I went in to computers.
Flush with cash, wore a suite and drove a BMW, nuff said.

And about my wife supporting us it's not like I don't work, hell I work every day, I can just put the majority of what I make right back into my Motorized bike business is all.

Retirement they say, should be about doing what you want to do.

Retirement is when the Government starts sending you money instead of the other way around.
    Another decade.
