So now i feel pretty dumb. I started to disassemble my old raw engine to find what bearing had failed and seized, only to find the problem was the key for the drive gear by the clutch. It has come out and jambed itself between the housing and the clutch assembly. Could've fixed it for a couple dollars. Wish i had done this before i bought a new engine. Oh well. Live and learn i guess.
