i got my 80/66cc kit took it out the box i am an engineer took all the burrs off ports did not enlarge or polish changed all the chinese plastic bolts for stainless steel cap heads flatted all mating faces and took 0.6 mm off cylinder head to increase compression slightly put in a decent spark plug mounted into and i think this is the difference a hybrid 700c wheel bike with road tyres and had my mate on his motorbike speed clock me 33mph all stamdard changed rear sprocket 32 tooth and altered needle height for leaner mix not much torque but its flat where i am and now get 38.12 mph and that was taken with a police hand held radar i know him wasnt done so why all the fecking around lol on anything this low powered your greatest by far route is to decrease your rolling resistance before you even cosider spending hours and hours to gain 0.0025 hp get goot hubs large wheels thinner tyres

thinner tires means a bumpier ride. I'd rather have fat tires and modify the engine for more power/speed

you could spend hundreds and hundreds on these engines and never get above 60 to try and eek the last 0.5 mph i have another bike with a ktm 400 single in it but that is way scary and i do run 2.25 tyres on that

I find 1.75-1.95 mountain bike tires or urban bike tires to be a good happy medium. a set with a slick center strip is the way to go. so far, michelin country juniors are my favorites, though unfortunately don't come any bigger than 24", but continental tour rides look nice.

generally, around 3-3.5 inches looks meanest and rides best, but the smaller you go, the faster you go. any bigger than 3.5 and it just looks like a joke to me.

That still doesn't defeat the fact it's cheap to upgrade these engines, and get decent power

what you can get 1.75 or 1.95 tyres in anything upto 29 inch even bigger than the 700 c rim dont you have them in am
theres a reason they dont run 3 inch tyres in the tour de france

There's a reason why the Tour de France doesn't use engines:)
