So, we went to see this guy in Iowa (while we were there visiting my grandparents) and I saw this and and had to show you guys. This guy has traded bike with Jay Leno for 30 years, and this was his bike back in the 40's. I would KILL to have a bike that nice. Just thought you would enjoy seeing it! It's a Monarch bike with a Whizzer engine on it. Instead of the regular Whizzer tank, he made a mini tank and put it INSIDE of the frame tank! Enjoy!

Hi Kestrel Motors, Inc,
Nice pictures of a really nice bike! The next time out in Iowa visiting you need to mention to your folks about stopping in Anamosa, IA to the National Motorcycle Museum. Iowa is a pretty big state, having worked in Keokuk myself, not like our states here on the east coast that are easy to get to one end to the other......but it looks like this museum would be worth the visit......

It bodes well for the future of the Whizzer hobby when the young folks take an interest in these classic machines that once sparked the same enthusiasm of an older generation when they were young......and that spark never left!!!!!

Take Care,
Mike

Monark Whizzer

I have a Whizzer mounted on a Monark bicycle. I also have the tank. Do you have any info on how the internal tank was made. I would like to do that mod on mine.

What he did was took the fake tank off the bike, then soldered together a tank small enough to fit in it. Next he took the side he wanted his spout to be on and cut the hole in in. Finally he put the spout through the hole, bolted the small tank onto the frame, then put the other side of the fake tank on and re-attached them together. Pretty ingenious, I think!
