staton-inc: rear mounted chain inside drive and outside drive, what's the difference?

Hey guys, recently joined here after beginning my second MB build, a staton gx50 friction drive, first was a Chinese 2 stroke huffy beach cruiser. Love the set up I have now, but I've been bitten by the bug and I'm already thinking about a future build. my question is, what is the difference between the inside drive and outside drive staton setups? just the engine position? any functional limitations or advantages with either?

Staton inside drive or outside drive has nothing to do with a friction drive. It refers to the Staton Inc gearbox. My bike used a inside drive. An outside drive would take the chain to the left side.
