I have for sale today a Tanaka PF300 that I upgraded. I'm the only owner. About 10 hours on the engine. I put it on my Staton FD and loved it, but I'm thinking of going the 4 stroke route....or something different. This engine has some great features.....very fuel efficient (160 mpg), chrome plated cylinder, and eco friendly.
I did this to the stock engine:
Installed Velocity Stack and K & N style air filter, just cleaned and oiled
Installed Tanaka 33cc Power Pipe and sealed all areas with RTV High Temp Silicone
Installed a Walbro WYK-197 Carburetor, which has 2 tuning screws unlike the stock one
Took off fan cover and scraped it clean and painted it in Rustoleum Orange
Tuned Carburetor
Installed New Spark Plug at about 10 hours
Cleaned Piston at about 10 hours of slight carbon deposits
As you can see I've put a lot of time and money into this. New the engine cost me $260, the air filter set up was $30, and the power pipe was $60. This engine has not been abused. It was just cleaned and has had 93 octane gas run through it all the time with a 50:1 ratio. This engine is extremely quiet compared to many other 2 strokes....its also pretty light.
I'll include some pipe wrap for the exhaust if you buy it at my price.
