I was waiting for a new master link to arrive, and being bummed about not being able to ride my MB. I was reading and someone mentioned using a regular link as a master link, once the chain was stretched out and worn in. That reminded me of my BMX days, we NEVER used master links. Pop off a link with a screwdriver, fix/adjust chain, then bang the link back together with a hammer. Old school at it's finest. I was a little more precise but that's the basic idea...and now I'm riding again, and not worrying about the master link coming apart again!

Using a chain breaking tool works much better but yes I've used the screw driver and hammer method as well.
