yes years back when The Dixie Chicks went over seas
they put the bad mouth on the good old USA
    their very own country !!!
even worse that what my Obama Mama did !!!

    The Dixie Chicks

    Dixie Chicks
I used to think that you
    were pretty cool
    that was only until
    you went overseas
    and made yourself's
    out to be fools
    proved that your blood
didn't run red white and blue !

    With your music
you sure love to make money
    those days are over
for all of us good old country boys
    not our kind of girls
    or playful country toys !

    Now you travel abroad
    with hatred for our country
    buried deep within you heart
    it's taken away your fame
bet you are praying for a new start ?

    To tell you the truth
    we are tired of you
    and all of your songs
    knowing that there are
    many good country singers
    that love this land
and wish it to continue on !

    You should have kept
    your mouths shut
    in regards to politics
to us you will always be known
as the good old "Dixie ****s" !!

when it comes to a poem written
    this one sucks big time
but the Dixie ****s suck big time also

interesting since they made that statement
    haven't heard much from them
a lot of their support was from country ones, service ones etc
out here where we live -- good old country
they are not the in THING they once were..................................

They lost their traditional country music fans, but they gained a whole new audience - the liberal elitists! Problem is that liberal elitists don't buy their music - they download it for free. It's a "communal thing". (pun intended MM)

Are country music radio stations still refusing to play their music?

the silly lazy one who decided to smuggle drugs in
stated that he she didn't understand why he she could't be
given a nice place to live ??

the punk does not even want to work !!!

The Dixie D1cks are free to trash talk about anything they want. However, they have found that talking politics when you are just an entertainer can have consequences.

When musical groups start spouting politics (either way), they should know that they will p1ss off some of their listeners.

    From Wikipedia:
Guess what? They are the best selling all female country group, period.

At the time of all the brouhaha, I was somewhat taken aback at it - mostly because I agreed with the statement (still do). George W. Bush lied to the nation and to the world to drag us into the single most costly and by far the most corrupt war in this nations history. I said it then, and I'll tell you now - he should have been impeached for violating his oath of office (multiple counts), along with innumerable gelonies, and convicted. Upon conviction he ought to have been indicted and tried in federal court for treason.

I know most of you won't like what I've just said, and won't agree with it, but the facts remain the facts, and what I've said is true. The law must apply just as much to the president as to any other citizen, or we are not "a nation of laws" at all.

And I know you won't like what I am going to say, but it is true, and the facts remain the facts. Barack Hussein Obama is lying to America to drag us into what will become a single payer government run health care system. That along with "cap and trade" will cause many more people to suffer or die for his lies than were lost in any war. His spending is adding more debt than all other previous presidents combined. He's fired CEOs. He is capping salaries of private businesses. He has appointed more czars than the Romanovs. Obama should be impeached for violating his oath of office (multiple counts), along with innumerable felonies, and convicted. Upon conviction he ought to be indicted and tried in federal court for treason. The law must apply just as much to the president as to any other citizen, or we are not "a nation of laws" at all.

yes so many left sided ones cried out -- impeach Bush

they say that Bush was responsible was 911
and all of that other left sided crappp

now regarding good old Obama Mama -- the time may just come for good reason -- IMPEACH

yes it's early and I am waiting for my first cup of coffee
    all over the place
if we blew up the trade center
why has NO ONE came forward to say anyTHING
their would have to be MANY INVOLVED

some people are just so darn silly

ever notice how just about 80 % of *** ones are liberals
not a big THING just find that interesting

Well, personally, I xaid nothing about any involvement in any specific thing except the lies so blatantly told to draw this nation into war. Lieing to Congress is a crime, and since Powell, Rumsfeld, et al were speaking on the direct orders of their commander, Geo. W, he is directly responsible for the lies he instructed them to tell.

Lots of other things as well, but he's not in office anymore. You raised the question of the Dixie Chicks, I addressed the opprobrium they confronted for speaking the truth in the face of powerful liars. They ought to be honored for what they said, not condemned.

I believed Bush when he said Saddam had WOMD, still do. I think it's blatantly obvious that Saddam had biological weapons as he used them routinely on his own people as well as US soldiers during the Gulf War. Just because the UN did not find anything doesn't mean c r a p. There is a whole desert out there you could easily hide anything you want. The UN couldn't find a lost dog if it had a tracking device on it's collar... everything the UN does is a joke. I guess thats why Iran and N korea have nukes even with "UN sanctions" placed on them??? Also again, everybody thought Bush was "lying" when he told us they were developing them, but oops I guess he was right this time. Now we have actual crazies with nuclear technology.

Could you imagine if the whole middle east was still chaotic... Instead of the whole middle east minus a relatively democratic IRAQ? Do you think those protesters in Iran would have spoken up w/out the conflict in IRAQ? You see the seeds of democracy have been sewn and now those people have a taste of freedom that will inspire other to stand up to tyranny and oppression. We would have been out of the middle east right now if Bush wouldn't have had a tidal wave of opposition in the house and senate.

OK... maybe Im being a little optimistic. Lets say Bush really fought this war for oil. Is cheap gas really a bad thing? We all saw what $130+ oil does to our economy... after all, that is the main reason people started losing their jobs and defaulting on home loans (which ultimately spiraled into the mess we find ourselves in today).

I think people that hate Bush are idiots that fell for the propaganda machine. The liberals took the opportunity to bash Bush so hard that we would vote for anybody that was seen as opposite George W.... and voila Obama Mania. We were set up for this from the second al gore lost the 04 election... which coincidentally is when the Bush derangement syndrome hit full swing.

In retrospect was the Bush era really that bad compared to what we have now? Would you rather have the "war monger" Bush... or the "socialist idiot" Obama. If you want to call George W. somebody who lied to the public what would you call Obama and his "economic recovery". An economic recovery in which nobody actually gets a job... just a massive $trillion+ bill.

    On a side note:

Everybody forgets that Bush inherited a recession too... anybody remember the .com bubble burst? We didn't see him mentioning Clinton did we?

Yeah, they were so brave trashing the president in front of a sympathetic foreign audience. Give 'em a purple heart, eh Simon?

They can say anything they want, but they have to be prepared to accept the consequences when they p1ss off their listeners.

American citizens that go overseas to bash America used to be called traitors and were traditionally hung. Now we consider them "hero's to be honored".

Any American citizen has the right and freedom to bash this country while they are here... it is called free speech. Them problem is when you go overseas.

You know for such an educated man of science this is a pretty vague claim... can you elaborate?
  15. SimpleSimon

    SimpleSimon Active Member

vtec, I am not going to address your claims as regards Bush in detail, because frankly you have exactly no evidence to support them. There is plenty of evidence supporting my position.

As for your claim that American citizens speaking out against American policies, actions, or officials are traitors - regardless of where they speak - all I can say is you very clearly do not understand what constitutes treason - which is the crime a traitor commits. Cite one single case history of a single American being hanged for words spoken in a foreign land that were simply critical, without revealing any secret information. You cannot - so we see that claim to be bogus as well.

Regarding your challenge to me to support my "vaque" claim, I did not simply for one reason - it would fall on the deaf ears of those whose minds are already closed in this matter. How about you provide some evidence to support your claim of Saddam using bioweapons on US soldiers, or possessing "Weapons of Mass Destruction" (what an idiotic term)? Not only the UN failed to find such - so did the highly trained and intensely motivated US military teams who spent thousands of man hours and millions of dollars in active search for such evidence. There are still US NBC experts in Iraq, still examining everything presented to them by US teams - to date, zero evidence.

Arcee, the reason I said they should be honored is that it did in fact require courage to speak truth to power, especially power caught out in blatant lies and refusing to admit they were lies. As far as losing their listeners, guess again. They are the best selling all female group in country music.

I know that most of you will consider me a leftist and a liberal for what I've said, which is just fine. As often happens, labelling and judgmentalism will be wrong. A leftist I am not, a liberal I am not by any usual measure of the term. I just happen to despise lieing politicians and incompetence, and George W. Bush was an incompetent and a liar long before he entered politics. I opposed him in both of his races for the Texas governorship, I opposed him as a candidate for President, and as a contractor to the DoD. I felt strongly enough about his lies and his idiotic policy decisions to resign a very lucrative position.

Why say anything if I know it will bring disdain? Simply because I get tired of the cheerleading and the ongoing support for lies, liars, and failed policies - which is a complete description of the Bush presidency.

you are right though about people being hung w/out revealing secrets... I meant figuratively not literally hung.

So far, liars and cowards, mostly. Not enough of a track record too assess Obama's competence yet, but I have no expectation he'll demonstrate any. So far as I can tell, he hasn't been caught out in any outright lies so far, but I'll be unsurprised if he is. I voted for him, not because I had any great hopes about his "leadership", but because he was vastly to be preferred to his major opponent, Bush-lite.
  19. give me vtec

well at least you are unbiased (which goes a long way to legitimize somebody's opinion in my book).

But I think you just proved my point about the propaganda... that I had no proof for.

It really is out of the rules for radicals... demonize your opponent. The leftist media fueled the Bush hatred thing so much that anybody even associated w/Bush would cause nausea w/the voters... thus eliminating opposition and guaranteeing victory. Like I said Voila... Obama Mania. You fell for it hook-line-and-sinker. They had this whole thing planned from the beginning of Bush's second term... economic disaster and all (if you need proof of this claim look at who authored the legislation for the banking industry).

Don't you think it a bit coincidental the same people who hated Bush so much championed Obama... without question or hesitation????

Don't you think it's strange that he won in a landslide election and now almost 60% of Americans now disapprove? Bush derangement syndrome is wearing off and now people are waking up.

Get ready for the next big thing though... Obama Derangement Syndrome.

Except ODS wont be caused by people watching the news getting mad about some frivolous war overseas... they will be furious over real issues like; they cant get a job to feed their children, or cant get healthcare to save their mother, or their neighbor ratted them out to for some comment.
