The Scooter Guy Ads Pedal Option

yes those pedals go right in there 1 3/8 fine thread 23 threads per inch . i use scooter freewheel there less expensive and fit the scooter sprockets i plan on using , they match the drive sprockets that come with the motors . i have an option to threaded pedals in the works for the do it yourselfers out there . it will save some money , here are some great pictures on how i mount the bracket , you can get some ideas for your build . its the bolting system that important , makes it adjustable . no bike frame is uniform they are angular .

Drilling holes in a frame and mounting vibrating engines and drivetrains like that is not a good idea for the long term. When it fails, and it will fail, it will be ugly. Be careful out there.

interest was peaked

few ods and ends that may peak your interest

yes -- scooterguy -- my interest was peaked

it would be nice to live close to you
because maybe you could lend me a tool or two
you must have plenty of tools
I lost a lifetime collection of my tools during the Calif Ceder fire 2003
been a little slow rebuilding the (tools needed)
very grateful though -- no one died in the fire on our dirt road
12 did die withing a 10 miles area

it's a nice day -- all have fun as you ride those things

Yeah, that's been my contention too as I've stated to SG before here in other threads when he first started showing his stuff, IE: innovative mount but don't drill.

Yet, a couple days ago showing some different MB pics to my bud and business partner, master bike mechanic w/20 years experience, worked race crews, builds frames......when he saw this he shrugged, said:
'meh, probably not a problem in the middle of the tube.....if it were closer to the welds then maybe'.

Whatever. Proceed at your own risk. I sure wouldn't want the liability on my hands.

Holes and bolts in bike frames need to be designed in from the beginning. Not just put there for convenience in frames that are marginal to begin with even without the added stress risers. Steel frames maybe, but alu no way.

Because there are no standards in the MB industry anything seems to go. But at some point you need to be at least aware of the consequences. Like that guy recently learned with his pusher trailer, after he was warned plenty. Any failures in regards to MB's will be talked about way more than any success's.

the tranny on the cag motor is a 5 to 1 right sided tranny the cag motor needs slight mod to use this tranny . i know the my drilling the frames has got some people worried i know it worried me years ago , in fact this has sparked debate around here also . my theory is this , if you drill the corect size hole and then fill it with the correct size bolt uses washers and apply preasure to both sides of the hole . is the hole there ?dont you maintain the structural integrity of the tube , with a bolt on china kit u can bent a bike tube i think this would weeken a frame more. my design doesnt shake the bike at all . its just three holes the two top one are just 1/4 inch and they are filled back up . then a nice brace betwene the holes , it holds and the frames don't break . or i would know . mycustomers would let me know . to my local customers the scooter guy warent always applies , i will fix this bike for as long as you own this bike you just buy the parts i do the work . i have always had this policy , becouse my bikes have always been a work in progress and i wanted to watch my designs to see where it needs improvement . this is how my bike design has evolved ,into what it is today . i brag , becouse one thing about this design is that it doesnt shake appart ,

Not whatever Mabdude, I was commenting in the context on this one specific mount.
At the risk of threadjacking, (sorry SG)...yeah....don't get me started. I'm working with a self-imposed 35cc ICE limit as alt. trans.
I see stuff like the pusher trailer timebomb and frankly a lot of the_need for speed_threads posted with "youthful exuerance" and I cringe.
I'm concerned this whole MB thing will do itself in before it gets started. Being much more connected to the bicycle world than the motorized, I'd say MBs suffer enough bad press.
