I've been in communication with Patrick W regarding his Trailmate and decided to share my build with the other members here. I bought this strange little 3 wheeler many years ago and used it as a plant bike for a couple of years before upper management bought me a golf cart to get around our four buildings. The trike sat abandoned in a dark corner of a warehouse until recently when I dragged it out and decided to motovate it. I had a dax Titan looking for a home and it found its way onto the trike. I've added a disc brake on the rear axle to augment the front drum and future plans are for a slatted wooden pickup bed reminiscent of the Dodge, Little Red Wagon pickup.
I'm currently running a 41T sprocket and the thing is faster than I want to ride it but well behaved and comfortable at 15 to 20 mph. I have built 6 motorized 2 wheelers but this is my first foray into three wheels. I like it so much that I'm now searching for a decent deal on a quality tadpole to motorize. At my age, 3 wheels look good.

Ron,
I'll give you $30.00 for the trike. That way you'll make $10.00 and we'll both be happy. Good to see you, friend.

Okay, here's the finished product. It's fast but I don't ride it that way. I keep it around 15 to 20 where the ride is docile and enjoyable. I added the wood slat pickup bed to give it a little style. It has head, tail and stop lights all working from a 12 volt, 7.5 SLA This should be fun this summer when I don't have to wear a leather jacket.
