Hi everybody. Brand new member looking to install a engine on my new trek marlin 5.
The bike has 29" wheels with disc brakes.
I know very little about motorized bikes but i am mechanically capeable to a degree. I have outboards. Dirtbikes. Motorcycles etc. And do a lot of weekend tinkering.
My question is, what is a good engine kit to buy for my bike.?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Nice bike.

You might be able to fit a 2-stroke slant in there with the plug facing forward, and maybe an offset Z intake as it's pretty tight.

Bicycle-engines has new real 2014 epa Skyhawk GT5 engines due in this month.

I'd jackshaft it with a SickBikeParts jackshaft shift kit to use the bikes gears with the engine and not interfere with the rear disc like these similar tight triangle center cavity builds.

Or if your budget allows, go electric.

Quite, green, and blow you away powerful.
Guaranteed to make even a pack of spandex smile when you blow by them sitting up and pedaling backwards ;-}
