Two speed Staton

Here is a picture of the shifter. It looks a little rough, need to clean and paint the bracket and reinstall the chain guard. Once the guard is back on, the only thing that shows is the cable and the lower tip of the dérailleur.

Cool it looks like she can shift on the go now easily. Probably a good idea to let off the gas a bit for a gear change like that to be gentle on the chain and sprocket teeth. Nice work. The kits should come like that.

Done

The two speed project is complete, it's everything I had planed it to be. The right shifter controls the pedal gear and the left shifter controls the engine gear. It was a little work but no big technical issues. Here is a picture of the completed project.

kerf,

I'd buy your kit. I think it'd work very well with a high-rpm engine.

Did you basically adapt a front derailleur and mounted it vertically ?.Do you think a three speed 13/16/19t arrangement is feasible?.That would mean a about another 3/4" increase in chainlength. With the standard thickness derailleur sprockets,I see no reason why this could not be made to work.
