I wonder if he's heard the news that YouTube is folding.
Turns out they aren't making enough money with click-through advertising to support the massive bandwidth needed to satisfy the Fabian's of the world.

J/K - but I doubt YouTube has made a dime.

    It's called split screen multi-tasking

Just because you are at work, doesn't mean you have to uni-task to be productive.

Now come on kerf and Gh0st, if you want to detract from the thread, please take your input to the combustion chamber where the social environment suits you well.

Please engage in relevant discussion, bringing forward interesting (links, text or pictorial) subject matter.

    Pleasant regards

I'm not meaning to detract form your post but just expressing my personal opinion. Most of us have, at one time or another, posted meaningless drivel but there are those among us that take meaningless drivel to the extreme. Some on the net, refer to these individuals as "Post Wh*res". Copious amounts of posts that have absolutely no value or meaning.

As I stated, this is only my personal opinion and having gotten it off my chest, I'll drop the matter.

    Dear Mr kerf

For reasons you've brought forward, this thread is appropriately placed in the "white zone".

Part of my early working history involved being around the stress testing; repair of, and aerodynamic modifications to Australian F-111 and FA-18 military aircraft, of which subsequent modifications (boron patches and leading edge alterations) were included on all future American production versions and in-service repairs.

In saying, aerodynamics and flight control surfaces has been a particular interest of mine (amongst many others), and considering that i fly large scale radio control helicopters, posing their own set of interesting aerodynamic quirkiness, you may be able to see why the thread has been listed in the "white zone".

It says "White Zone", not "Dump Here" or "Public Landfill".

So you went from FA-18's to a Mall Cop? Interesting......

You are incorrect Gh0st - i'm not a shopping complex security guard, not that there is anything wrong with that kind of employment - honest work is nothing to be s******ed at, when it brings home pay for your family, unless you are implying that being a mall security guard is a disreputable method of employment.

My short working history, of which really has no relevance to this thread.

I went from working at the Aeronautical Research Laboratory (now called: Defence Science Technology Organisation - DSTO) to running my cleaning business in Cairns for two years, then coming home and taking any work i could get for 6 months, then working as a security guard for a period of time, and moving onto spending 2 years as a keyhole microscope repair technician.
From there i went to working in the internal sales and service of specialist electronic light interrupt saftey systems with a German company for 12 months, then moving onto operating plastics extrusion machinery, then back to the company where i worked as a microscope technician, setting up their injection molding machines for a new set of Australian patented disposable insufflator devices, then moving back into my current security job which is seriously low stressed and gives me 7 days off work out of every fortnight with reasonable pay - doesn't get any better than that.

So Mr Gh0st, what was the direction of your comment.

Direction of my comment? None. This is the "white zone", right? And correct me if I'm wrong, but you were the one who injected your working history into this conversation. (trying to impress kerf or something...) I just thought it was interesting that you went from working on FA-18's to a "low stressed security job".

Impressing people isn't part of my game as essentially i'm just a high school dropout who has happened to be in the right place at the right time and applied myself when it was required.

kerf seems to spend a good deal of time in the combustion chamber trying to be a part of the winds of political change in America.

My work history is as stated but it jumps around a bit after coming back from far north queensland and a time caught up in the bitter times and devious and conniving machinations of my parents divorce lawyers - a period of intense turmoil trying in ways rescue my brother from a bunch of friends who were placing him on a destructive path; the reason why i took any job i could get and a house to live where he could have some stability outside a very messy and destructive divorce.

I should have moved on from the security industry years ago but i'm addicted to having so much free time - everyone else works at least 5 days a week, some 6 days a week and other 7 days a week, without respite - that kind of lifestyle can be a meat grinder if coupled with a high stress job.

I'm fortunate to have a boss that doesn't care how i work, so long as the required work gets done in an efficient and methodical manner.

If you've got access to the combustion chamber you can tag along and be kerfs sidekick.
If arceeguy was still around, you could be the "three amigos"

    Nope, no access.

Aside from that, if I did, everyone would want to tag along ME and be MY sidekick because I would probably perk up that forum. lol

I thought it was a post count thingy like posting URL's. I think when I hit around 100 posts my URL tags worked. It could be linked to how long you are a member. I'm not sure how they have things set. ;)

    Read the sub-forum description.

All you have to do is request access. If you later decide you want to bail out, you can just as easily - however, it is a "once in, once out" situation, so don't get yer knickers twisted up in there and bail out expecting to get back in once you cool down.

Cool - maybe I'll PM Quenton and request access. Sounds like fun!
