I went riding today and got a bit muddy..........doing wheelspins in the mud lol. Do you guys ever use a pressure washer to clean you bikes is the engine waterproof enough to do this?

Sure you can do it... I would put a ZipLock bag over the carb, then blast the **** out of it :)
I hope ya did good electrical work on it, like covering the connections, don't want anything shorting out.

I'd use a pressure but like said after covering carb, and also, avoid direct blast around the axle., you wouldn't want to wash out the grease. And a pressure washer will do that.

I vote "NO" to pressure washing the engine.
The Magneto + H2O do not mix.

Let us know how it turns out.

    Pressure washer not worth it.

All I use is a standard hose. If you can rinse it before everything "dries up" you don't need much pressure. I also have a couple of scrub brushes that my buddy gave me, that he used to clean the wheels on his car. They don't actually scrub, they are very light. That little touch of Sham Wow and you're in business.

The main trouble with pressure washers are that they has a tendency to get water into places that they really doesn't need to be.

This also is true for the bicycle part of your system. Sealed bearings can be one of many types, very few can stand up to the pressure of a power washer.

I would use a garden hose if possible, but if you prefer the pressure washer.... Be gentle, and avoid directing it into sensitive areas. Ya only need to get the dirt off, not the paint :)

a pressure washer would be way too much pressure for a bike or one of these engines. it will get water into places that you don't want it to get. it will also blast off decals, stickers and paint that you may want to keep , and it wioll blow the grease out of wheel bearings.
my bikes don't get that dirty, but i use carb cleaner to spray the engine down every once in awhile which will remove oil residue. To wash the frame, i just use a rag and windex, or soap & water and a garden hose. I use windex on the chrome (rims, fenders, chain gurads, etc.)
my frames and tanks get waxed, and my bikes get cleaned quite often. because i don't like things dirty. sometimes my bikes get dusty from just sitting in the garage.
i never ride in the rain and my bikes have never had mud on them.
i don't ride them much, but i like them to look good when i do ride them, and i take them to car shows along with my car, so i want them to always be clean and ready to go.

how i clean my bike and engine.

I clean my bike with a bucket of soapy water and a rag (old t-shirts), Takes time but also gives me the chance to check all welds of the frame, engine Bolts, Nuts and so on.

I clean my engine with fuel/Gas, Not to much fuel/Gas. Just a little on a rag. Removes any oil that may leak, removes dirt easy.

then i place grease on the chain and chain tension, Where the drive cog is. Then place it in the sun for around an hour to evaporate the fuel and flumes from the engine.(that i cleaned the engine with)

I like taking my time. sometimes i just hit it with an air compressor and it blows all the mud and dirt off in seconds. :D

i ride mine every day 30kms each way. it gets grubby ive sealed the mag side up and have sound deadener on the clutch side, and i use a high pressure hot wash have done every week for 6 months and its been ok just be careful with the carb and ignition,. i find the hot water evaporates very quickly
