I'm new to motorbikes and I know very little, I plan on building a friction type to start because it seems cheapest to start. Would it be good to use a 10-15 speed bike with this type? It would seem to me that if i used a bike with pedal braking then it would wear a spot on the tire... some advice please....
also the way I planned to build it was to mount my motor with a metal bar that can swing with a solid metal bar going up thats non moveable with large slot up and down then use bolts to keep it firmly depressed on the tire... so i can slide it up/down and retighten to desired tightness.... Does that sound workable?

Any bike will do I have built 3 and my new BMX is the very best. It handles and feels the best on the road. No matter what bike you use make sure the brakes are the best. It will do 22mph and with the 4 cycle engine very smooth.
