Whizzer belt size

I am working on a Whizzer project, which uses an H engine and a 40s 26 inch vintage Columbia bike. I would like to be able to go somewhere like Nappa and buy a rear sheave belt of proper length. Any help on the length required and type of belt would be appreciated. Thanks.

It will probably take an AX61 or AX62 belt. It can vary from bike to bike depending on the location of your motor mounts. I would buy both sizes and take one back.

Thanks. I have an AX 62 belt and it was too short. I ordered a couple more AX belts in larger sizes, since they are pretty inexpensive. I'll get it eventually.

The chances of it being longer than a 63 is pretty slim. I thought the same thing about my build but it was just engine adjustment. There is an original document floating around somewhere that I remember seeing that has a list of major bike mfgrs back in the '40s and the belts needed. I'll look for it.

OK. Thanks. The rear wheel on this bike appears to be further back on the frame than the Schwinn. I would have to be able to move the engine back at least 3 inches for a 62 to work.
