Can the cables that come from a vintage style reproduction thumb throttle and compression lever setup be adapted to work with the vintage twist grip throttle and compression controls? It looks like all I need do is make a short L-bend at the end of the wire inside the cable. I used a twist grip 50 years ago, but never had it apart.

YES. The end of the cable will need a "Z" bend to fit and stay attached to the small slider inside the twist control. The bend will need to be smaller than the bend used on the thumb controls. A common conversion in the ole' days was to upgrade your "H" motor to the later twist controls, and was easy to do.

Have fun,
